This coming Saturday, September 15, 2018, I’ll be on stage at the Tamar Valley Writers Festival in Tasmania with my friend Ron Stigwood, nephew and former assistant to legendary music, stage and movie producer Robert Stigwood. Ron lived and worked with his uncle in the US during the 1970s and early 1980s, during the height of ‘Stiggy’s’ success with the Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, ‘Saturday Night Fever,’ Grease,’ ‘Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,’ ‘Gallipoli,’ and Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Ron – that’s him on the right, with Robert, in the picture above – was an enormous help to me during the research for my 2017 Stigwood biography ‘Mr Showbiz.’ At the Festival, in a world first, Ron will be sharing memories of his brilliant uncle and the people they worked with. We’ll be on stage at Grindelwald, on the outskirts of Launceston, at 2.00 pm.
